It is time we realise the power of culture in our lives. Culture shapes our identity and ties us to history and most importantly to the legacy of our ancestors. Significantly, and what we cannot afford to ignore is that culture is knowledge. As Marcus Garvey famously said: “A people without knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots.”
